Hey there guys, about a month ago I followed all instructions http://forums.majorgeeks.com/showthread.php?t=35407 from that thread to succesfully remove MOST of the junk that was creating problems for me. However recently, in the last few days my computer has become overrun with infections to the point where there is a rediculous amount of pop ups mainly from Anti-virus live which wants me to purchase its service in order to remove threats. Now I cannot open paint or any program except mozilla.. it's really frustrating. I can download anti virus and malware removal programs such as AVG, Avast, Adaware,Malwarebytes, CCcleaner.. but I can't install them unless I'm in safemode and even after they are installed I cannot open them to scan and remove the threats. Everytime I do try to open something I get a security warning message saying this: Application cannot be executed. The file insertfilename.exe is infected. Do you want to activate your antivirus software now?

and then it goes into the gay cycle of antivirus live popping up and initializing a scan and it shows like 30 some odd viruses such as

    Vmalum.AWS
    CNNIC Update U
    Bancos DMD
    Win32.Grams.I
    Zlob AN
    SillyDI BCL
    Win32/Wadnock
    Win32/NuqeLE
    Moonlight.V

and the list goes on.. I really dont know what to do now.. I've never had a problem of this magnitude and I am all out of ideas, please please please somebody steer me in the right direction, I will be eternally greatful and foreer in your debt.

    Thanks
    Mike

    Welcome to Major Geeks!

Please work thru all steps below and report back later. DO NOT stop if any particular step does not work. You can try running these in safe boot mode if you cannot run in normal boot mode but normal boot mode would be best especially for MGtools.

Download and save the below to your PC (save it anywhere you can find it. The Desktop is fine). Then double click on it to run it.

    AVPFind.bat

It should take a couple minutes to run. You will see a black command prompt window while it is running and it should close when it is finished. Once it finishes, attach the avplog.txt file that is will hopefully be created on your Desktop as long as the malware does not block the batch file from running. (See: HOW TO: Attach Items To Your Post)

Please download and run the below tool named Rkill (courtesy of BleepingComputer.com) which may help allow other programs to run.

There are 4 different versions. If one of them won't run then download and try to run the other one.

Vista and Win7 users need to right click and choose Run as Administrator

You only need to get one of them to run, not all of them. You may get warnings from your antivirus about this tool, ignore them or shutdown your antivirus.
    1. Rkill.exe
    2. Rkill.com
    3. Rkill.scr
    4. Rkill.pif
Once you've gotten one of them to run then try to immediately run the following.

Now download and Run exeHelper from Raktor
    • Please download exeHelper to your desktop.
    • Double-click on exeHelper.com to run the fix.
    • A black window should pop up, press any key to close once the fix is completed.
    • A log file named log.txt will be created in the directory where you ran exeHelper.com
    • Attach the log.txt file to your next message.
Note: If the window shows a message that says "Error deleting file", please re-run the program before posting a log - and post the two logs together (they will both be in the one file).

Now run this: Using Malwarebytes Anti-Malware

    Now run this: Using MGtools

Now you need to attach (See: HOW TO: Attach Items To Your Post ) the below logs created while running the above scans
    • the avplog.txt log on your Desktop
    • exeHelper log
    • Malwarebytes Anti-Malware log
    • MGlogs.zip - normally it is C:\MGlogs.zip - only attach this log from MGtools.exe DO NOT attach any logs seen in the MGtools folder.

    NOTE:
    1. If you have problems downloading on the problem PC, download the tools and the manual updates for Malwarebytes onto another PC and then burn to a CD. Then copy them to the problem PC. Yes you could use a flash drive too but flash drives are writeable and infections can spread to them.
