Please Help Me, My Computer keeps switching off

    Hi there,

    I tried to do the 'read and run me first' stuff, but my computer keeps switching off when i try to run spybot in safe mode, after i have run Ccleaner. What should i do???

    Please help me.

    Welcome to Major Geeks!

    Does your PC always turn of on its own even if you don't run scans?
    Does it turn also shut itself off in normal boot mode?
    Is this the reason you started running the READ ME to begin with?

    Depending on your answers, there is a strong possibility that your problem is hardware related and not due to malware.

    Yes it has been for the past 6 months and then it stopped for about a month or so. It first started happening when i was playing games on the computer, so now i dont really play them anymore and now it generally happens when i am running scans.

    It shuts off in all modes, the first time i noticed the problem was getting really bad i rebooted in safe mode and it didnt switch off. But the problem is just getting worse, and yes that is the reason why i started running the 'read me'.

    So if it is related to hardware, what should i do?

    Well you should be approaching it from a Hardware perspective and make sure you think about whether the PC (is it a laptop) is overheating.

    However first try to get me the below three logs that are requested in the READ ME. The run pretty fast and you should be able to get them before your PC shutsdown. Attach the logs here:

    • GetRunKey
    • ShowNew
    • HijackThis - make sure it is installed and renamed as requested.
