I addressed this in your same post in the software section ...please do not double or triple post as all that does is confuse people.:)

i'm surprised no one else is complaining. does your statement reflect any of the forums terms and conditions ? if you really want to know why i chose to post in the hardware forums ... I HAVE DIAGNOSED THE PROBLEM AS A HARDWARE ISSUE.  I don't see any valid reason why anyone should be "confused" by this. i only post for tangible help not unecessary criticism

back to the issue...i have downloaded all windows updates including driver updates. the only driver in device manager that has a yellow exclamation mark is "serial". i have no idea what the device is for or associated with. would it be responsible for BSOD when i close a web browser? please advise.

My post was not criticism ....and it doesn't matter at this point whether you've "diagnosed the problem as a hardware issue" ...anyone wishing to provide assistance to you will end up spending their time trying to find the your post in the software section so that they can see what has already been suggested.
