plz help windows media problems

hey all i just got a little problem..
whenever i play cd's, or mp3's from my harddrive, and keep windows media up, the audio sort of skips, and pops, and sounds like crap.. and then when i minimize it, the sound problems go away

i am using windows media 9, and i have 2.0 speakers on my soundblaster (see specs in my sig.) and i am using a cordless logitec mouse (radio)...

any suggestions would be nice, cause i really like those windows media animations
