Are these broadband speeds slow? I’ve just checked my broadband speed and the results are as follows:

    Distance from exchange: 0.6 miles

    Download speed: 0.3 Mb

    Upload speed: 0.4 Mb

I used the following test: "UK Broadband Speed Test" http://www.uswitch.com/broadband/speedtest/#q2 (accessed on Friday 20/05/2016 at 14:37)

It depends what exact package you have with your Internet Service Provider.
You should be able to run a speed test on their site - while you are logged in - as well and report it to them if it is lower than what your package states.
Do remember that ADSL packages are generally slower than Fibre Optic packages. But even your speeds look very slow for standard ADSL.
Do the speed test again, but THIS TIME run CCleaner FIRST and remove all temp files etc.
Then make sure you have no other programs running when you do the speed test.

As a comparison, also check your speeds with Speedtest.net.

Line stats from your router would also be useful.

Mark those are poor but as MaxTurner mentions, what service are you paying for and who is your provider?
I'm at a long line from exchange and get 52MB/s down and 5MB/s up off BT infinity on a 5.9km line.

Huh. I have ATT and using speedtest, the fastest I can get is nearly 3megabbytes down, less than 2 up. I have ADSL Ultra and ATT tells me those are very good speeds. Its the fastest plan available here. Funny, when we first got broadband fifteen years ago or so, it was far faster. Rural area has built up but no upgrades to lines. :( Want to cut the cord, but we put up with a lot of buffering now when we go through roku. We have direct TV which is outrageously costly for the few things we watch.
