Popular network tool Nmap in CNET security brouhaha

We have been approached by companies wanting us to do this and we basically laughed at them. They named a few other sites who will be adding this soon so keep your eyes peeled for some of the larger sites to be doing this soon as well.

 

All that glitters is not gold these days with some downloads and to change an installer from the original developers one as in this case NMap is a bit sneeky as the below quote (snipped from the full) states.

This is very true and if a user of any app that a download site (I stress download site as in this case the original Dev did not do this) adds other freebies to the installer, then who's to know what they may install in the future thinking that this stuff is the norm.

Good stuff Tim on laughing at those that asked you to do this as I know you and Jim have integrity and a love for software to go this route... kudos.
