port scan detected help?

    Hello, i am running system suite 8 nad my net defense firewall keeps telling me that they are detecting a port scan. Help!!! how do i stop this or get rid of it? It says Net defense has detected that the remote host 68.87.73.242 was attempting to scan active TCP and UDP ports on your computer. It happens about every 30 seconds and sometimes weird sounds are coming from my computer. The remote host is sometimes different. It is saying that all traffic from this host is bieng blocked. SHould i worry. Will it stop? Or do i have to remove it?

    Welcome to Major Geeks!

    Is your ISP ComCast? That is who is scanning your PC. Put a router inbetween your cable modem and your PCs and the router should block this from getting to your PCs. Otherwise just block it with your firewall and tell it to always do the samething and not bug you about it.

    Yes the isp is comcast. I will try the router. Can you suggest wich brand to buy? I am wireless. My land line is also connected to the modem. Will that be a problem? thank you

    Forget to say i have a wireless router connected. It's linksys.

    Okay then since these are just scans from your ISP, tell your firewall to block them and always do the same thing silently (i.e., not to bug you about it).
