I have recently moved and some how lost a power supply for an external HD. I have looked for another one but the ones that say they are for my model have an output of 2.0 amp whereas the original has an output of 1.5 amp.
If I get it, will it damage my hard drive?

So long as the voltage and polarity (+/-) matches the old one, a power supply with a higher amperage should not hurt the drive.

Amperage is the maximum current draw an adapter will safely handle. As an example, your PC may be plugged into a wall socket that runs to a 20-amp circuit breaker. If all the devices on that circuit total under 20 amps, there are no problems.

    Hope this helps. :)
