PowerDirector 8

HI,
I am editing a video with PD8 and am having some trouble and could use some help. I tried posting at the manufactures site but they didn't help at all so I am hoping some one hear can shed some lite on this.


My problem is when I am doing a more complex video using alot of effects and multiple video tracks (9 tracks) the program be comes almost unresponsive and occasionally I get an error from Powerdirecter not enough system memory (FROM POWERDIRECDTOR NOT WINDOWS)


At first I thought It was a limitation of PD8 being 32bit and only being able to accesses 2.xxxGB of memory however I checked Task Manager and its only using 451,556K of memory and the system has a total of 4GB and only 2.29GB in use.
While PD8 is open and I get that error all other programs I have open run like usual with no slow down I can even ALT+TAB out of it with no probs
Is this just poor coding or some other culprit because shouldn't it only slow down when it hits the maximum memory allocation I just don't get it.
Also CPU never maxes out (always in respectable limits) unless I am rendering the video
All drivers, windows and PD8 are all up to date.
