printing the background fill colour in a Word XP document?

hey

I have a letter in Word XP that contains a background fill colour. I created this by going to Format->Background and choosing a colour. When i print the document the page print with a white background and not the colour i chose. Even in the print preview window the background colour disappears too.
How do i get word to print the backgound colour? Confused

Click Tools > Options > click Print tab > tick/check Background colors and images > OK

tested on Office2003 but its not to disimilar to office XP

Hey jpmad4it,
Same thing happens in my Word XP. Found this in Word XP help on backgrounds -

Backgrounds are used in Web layout view or in a Web browser to create a more interesting background for online viewing. Backgrounds are displayed in Web layout view only and aren't designed for printing.

i guess i have my answer then. Thats a bit rubbish!!

Guess alot of people moaned about it and that option was added to Office 2003, however I did find a workaround that could work

create a text box and fill it with the colour you want then print.
