Problem removing Symantec/Norton security software

Greetings,

I recently purchased a PowerSpec computer at an estate sale. One of the upgrades I performed was to add a wireless network card. My problem is that I believe the Symantec sercurity is firewalling the card and I cannot access the internet. I have attempted to remove Symantec/Norton in add/remove programs but the system will not allow it. I have also gone into the registry but with the same result. Is there a good program out there for removing this garbage?
