Problem while trying to dualboot win7/blackbuntu

First of all im on an alienware m17x with the i7 2820

Well i was wanting to get into linux, and blackbuntu seemed very interesting. Win7 came pre installed so i shrank the partition and created an U:/ drive. Using linux pen drive i put the .iso on there instead of C:/. I go to restart and after it reboots i have an option for boot options and setup. After that the screen just goes black with a blinking dash in the top left corner. Ive tried the boot options to see if i could boot from C:/ which has win7 on it, but it doesnt even give me the option to choose one. Anyone know whats going on?
