Problem with ATI Radeon 9550

Help!!!

I installed my new 9550 into my emachines 770, booting up in safe mode and completeley uninstalling my previous graphics card drivers (GeForce4 MX 440) before actually inserting my new card.

But when i turn on my computer it displays the emachines screen before going blank instead of loading windows. i know the card works because if i enter my bios setup programme first and exit it boots up fine. but entering bios everytime i want to use my computer is damn annoying.

can someone help?

Do you have onboard video,if so make sure its disabled,
