problem with sony laptop

my buddies laptop seems to be switching the main settings display from 1024x768 back to 640x480...dont know what the problem is...can't figure the damn thing out...ad-aware/spybot clean...although hijackthis said that there might be an issue with sony's switch utility.exe....no idea what that does though...thanks.

 

Try disabling sony's "switch utility.exe". Using msconfig.

 

nope that wont do it...my mistake, realized the switcher utility was for the wireless web lan network...so it's a good program...i did remove lxbutime.dll from hijackthis...however still nothing...
im stumped, no idea why it's flickering from 1024x768 to 640x480...grrr.....
