    2) two errors pop up every time i boot
    rundll
    error loading C:windows\system32\NvCpl.dll

I'd try reinstalling the latest drivers.
Make sure you've uninstalled the ATI drivers.
    Uninstall Nvidia drivers.
    Download the latest Nvidia driver.
    Install Nvidia drivers.

If that doesn't work try again but disable the card in device manager after uninstalling the Nvidia driver and then reboot, then try reinstalling the drivers.

Oh and for the sound issue, try getting the latest driver for your sound card/onboard sound and do the same with that.

It sounds like something just went wrong when you installed the Nvidia drivers the first time, this may have messed up your sound card drivers.
