problems overclocking my xfx geforce 5500 fx

i have a geforce 5500 fx video card and im trying to overclock it with nv tweak formely known as coolbits i read some people getting 325 by 514 on overclocking it starts at 270 400 i can only get 270 514 is there anything i can do to get it better i have a thermal tech 480 power supply a asus a7v880 mother board a amd athon 2400+ cpu overclocked to a 2600+ 1 gig of kinston ddr3200 ram wich is two sticks of 512 dual channeled and a 40gb hard drive which is a western digital and its partion right in half please someone help i cant figure it out i try and it says please lower your settings so if someone can help please do

i just got the nv tweak and im trying to use it so im not sure if im doing it right im just trying to overclock it any help would be great i read all the forums just cant get this nv tweak to work right as i said i saw some one who had a 5500 fx that started like mine 270 and 400 and he got it to 325 514 i can only get 270 514 how can i get more?

 

it looks like your not overclockign the core...( 270 270 ) try to get more core....

 

ok i got 300 393 and it starts at 270 400 is that good or should i keep trying and what voltage should i put it at i have a geforce 5500 fx?

 

the AGP voltage ya mean ???? 1.6 is normaly best.....

 

thanks for the help and do you think that was good results and thanks to your thread i was able to oc my 2400+ cpu amd athlon to a 2700+ with no problems and do you think i should oc my ram now too?

 

What is the stock speeds of the 5500 and what are you running now ? Id go for OCing the mem too ....but its your system...

 

the stock speed of the 5500 is 270 400 but know im running it at 300 393 and how do i go about oc my mem right now i have my cpu oc its a 2400+ amd and its running at 2700+ oh and i have kingstone value rame pc3200 2 512 sticks that are dual channeled on my board which is a asus a7v880 and once again thanks for all the help

 

you have your core OCed but now you have your mem uncerclocked....make both as hi as you can get them without artifacts....

 

k well now i can only get 275 405 and it starts at 270 400 is there any other programs i can download to get better results i have nv tweak which was formely known as coolbits

 

rais the core till ya start to se weard things in games.. then drop it by 3 Mhz at a time till thay go away.. That is the max OC for the core ..now do the same for the mem...

 

k well the max settings i can go up to is 275 405 which isnt much considering it starts at 270 400 is there any other oc programs i can get other then nv tweak which is coolbits

 

cool bits is waht i use u might have to tweak some setting in cool bits itself... but i reocmmend the omega drivers www.omegadrivers.net and dl the nvida drivers. i think they include overclocking but u have to install ur normal video card drives before install these
