problems with any video media player

i just reformated my system i have all current drivers i am running a PNY verto 6800 GT...the only problem i have is playing videos.counter strike source WOW all my games look fine... any type of video format looks kind of washed out and very bright i also tried playing different video formats on different players i.e. windows media player real quicktime divx... any of you guys had this problem before? i used fraps to take a screenshot but looks fine like the video should...well im gonna keep messing with setting and if i fix it ill post what i did...if someone knows how to fix it help will be much appreciated
