Problems with New Soundcard and Microphone

    ok my new report....

    i added a new soundcard. i can hear just fine, but my microphone doesn't work.... thoughts?

    its a sound blaster audigy se

    Hi

    Moved to new thread.


    Few things to try.

    1. Enter your BIOS and make sure the onboard AC97 Audio is set to disabled

    2. Make sure that if listed the old Audio driver is uninstalled, check Add/Remove and Device Manager for this.

    3. Have you checked both the Windows Audio and Sound as well as the Soundblaster Control panels for the Mic being muted?

    4. What application are you using that needs the Mic? if Skype then what version and have you checked its Control Panel for Mic settings?
