problems with writing disks

hi i wonder if anyone can give me some advice, my disk drivers keep freezing when i try to write a disk, i use nero startsmart to write my disks but after about 8 mins my computer freezes and i am at a lost to know why can anyone help.

I've been having the same problem with NeroSmartStart recently. It happens when I'm burning or editing my videos either home made or dvd copy. I recieve no errors, just locks up when importing files.

my computer was freezing up all the time i have used avg and various other things advanced windows care seems to have fixed the problem except when i try to write a disk it just freezes no errors nothing.
