Processes taking up system resources

    Hi,

    About a week ago my parents asked me to look at there PC as it was running very slow, they were not kidding. I have followed a good number of the steps on your do this first postings and was able to clear up a couple of things from the add and remove hardware, and AD-Aware and SpyBot both found things, however some of the additional scans seemed to show that there were more to get rid of, can you please help me do this. The PC is now working a good bit better, but it is hard to tell if it is back running to full speed as it is a good few years old.

    Attached are the logs that I think you want, if I have missed anything let me know.

    Yes if you have run our guide we will also need the logs from GetRunKeys and ShowNew attached as well.

    You need to use the current versions of ShowNew and GetRunKey. You should never assume you have the current versions. You must always check. Download the current versions and attach new logs. I'm not seeing too many problems let.

    Also uninstall your two old versions of Sun Jave and install the current version! Here's how:


    Goto Add/Remove programs and Uninstall the below old versions of software:
    J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 4
    J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 6

    Now install the current version of Sun Java from: Sun Java Runtime Environment

    Also you can have HJT fix the below line!
    O2 - BHO: (no name) - {5345A7A1-805A-4923-B505-86B2FEBA3FE0} - (no file)


    Also delete the below files:
    C:\Documents and Settings\l\Local Settings\Temp\484.exe
    C:\Program Files\LimeWire Gold\Partner\NPSSoftware_WhenUSaveNow_InstallerInst.exe
    C:\WINDOWS\system32\actskn45.ocx
