First off I'll say my pc's basic specs:
Windows XP Pro, (updating to SP2)
    Intel Pentium 4 1.8ghz
    256mb RAM
    GeForce FX5700 (I think)

That's all I can think of that relates to this.

Ok, so here's the story. Freshly re-installed windows to try and combat this, but as soon as I open certain applications, e.g. Nero Startsmart, it goes straight to Windows Error Reporting.

This also happens in games when I click on text boxes in Enemy Territory and Star Wars Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy.

If anybody has a clue what could be the problem here, I would be very thankful.

    Thank you for your time.

Does this occur after the PC has been on for a while? If so it may be over-heating or does it do it immediately - possible dodgy RAM or power supply. Are there any error messages displayed?

it happens at any time when the pc is on, even for short periods of time.

sometimes the power does go out though, im gonna get a new PSU i think.

i've resorted to re-installing xp. seems to be working up to now. I formatted the whole hard drive so maybe it was a problem with the HDD itself?

I'll keep updating. thanks for your help.
