This was originally posted in the malware forum. TimW found no viruses in my logs and suggested I report here for help. Issues described below are unchanged after going through the malwars process and finishing it up by removing the tools and closing out MGclean.bat. Avast was still not opening in regular nor safe mode so I'm reinstalling it in safe mode. I did not attach logs from malware scan to this post.

Issues began Thursday night, I believe. I suspect someone is the family was using my machine and clicked yes to a pop up of some kind, though no one will fess up. Issues are sudden and different than anything previous.
A couple of program errors pop up when apps try to load at start up.
    - acmon.exe the application was unable to start correctly 0x00000e5
    - InsOnCfg.exe was unable to start correctly 0x00000e5
Most programs now won't start at all on regular boot up. Firefox opens but hangs unresponsive after 2-3 pages. When I can finally get firefox to close I get a breakpoint error
    - The exception breakpoint . A breakpoint has been reached 0x80000003 occured in the application at location 0x0000000006C30EC83
Chrome & Edge won't open at all. Avast, MalwareBytes, etc. also won't open at all. Most open and seem to function normally in safe mode, though I still get "Tips can't be opened using the built-in administrator account. Sign in with a different account and try again."
I did Repair_windows.exe twice in safe mode but it did not fix the issues. Chrome would fail to open during the fixing process with the administrator account error.
Friday, I downloaded a Samsung update & repair program for my phone. Thought that might be it. When I tried to uninstall it, settings would open, but uninstall programs wouldn't. I can't remember the error specifically, but it was something like "windows uninstaller was not registered and to check with my administrator". I downloaded IObit uninstaller and it wouldn't open until I was in safe mode. I uninstalled the Samsung programs. No change in the original errors.
I don't know why I didn't connect the dots to malware and run through your process until this morning. I thought It was the damn Samsung program for sure and was fixated on getting it off the machine. But I ran through the malware removal process now in safe mode because none of it will run in regular boot.
    Logs attached.
This is an ASUS 64 bit machine running Windows 10.
    Thank you!

    From Avast FAQ:
In some cases, Behavior Shield may display the error message The application was unable to start correctly (0xC00000e5) or stop an application from running and freeze your PC.

We are investigating these issues and working on a permanent solution. If necessary, temporarily disable Behavior Shield in Settings ▸ Components.

If you can't access Avast settings to disable the Behavior Shield, see if these instructions rectify the situation.

Note: this is just a temporary workaround until Avast sort things out.

    Thank you!!!!
So this was from an update Avast did? ggggrrrrrrrr, I've shut off behavior shield for now but I suppose I'll look for another AV shortly if they don't get this worked out. I'm not a fan of just leaving that feature disabled.
Thanks again for your time! :)

Avast 17.2.2288 Build 17.2.3419 available through the internal updater should fix the Behavior Shield's conflict with Comodo firewall.
