    I have no idea how to get rid of this. It has caused my Messenger to crash everytime I open it. I looked for a method to remove it on another forum, as I don't really know much at all about virus software or removal. I tried this method suggested by someone ;

hi all, ok heres how to stop it
(ive cleaned my sister computer and its seems to be gone now)

In windows, firstly, save this and DISCONNECT from the internet.

click on start then run, then type in cleanmgr.exe
run disk cleanup to remove all temp files, this will stop it coming back.

next... click on start then run then " msconfig "
after it appears, click on " start up " then " disable all " then apply then close/ok.

    then restart your computer.

after restart, connect to the internet..
IN internet expolarer, click on tools then " manage addons ".
    a box named manage-addons appears.

scroll down and disable ALL the addons.
left click then hit disable, if u get a message box just agree to disable it.
    once they are all disabled...
CLick on tools then internet options.

Reset your homepage, as the virus/trojan hijacks it to another one, and then remove all the connections from the connections tab that shouldnt be there.

    close and reopen internet expolarer.

Now.... the last thing i did was installed ADaware SE <- goggle this, install / update (if u ahve it already) and do a full scan.

when u come to the end it might complain about not removing some files. and it`ll ask to remove them on restart. say yes and restart.

That didn't work so I then checked on another forum and it was suggested to use KillBot to permanantly delete certain files, and then restart the computer.

This seems to have caused me even more problems as after I restarted my computer, my Messenger STILL doesn't work, my desktop settings returned to default, my Norton Antivirus won't work, (when I tried to fix that, had no success, turns out a folder in the registry editor is missing?) and I can't seem to download any anti-spyware software as suggested in other posts.

Can anyone shed some light as I seem to be causing more problems than I am fixing.

Sorry, should have mentioned that I tried to start using the READ & RUN ME FIRST sticky, but I can't actually get past the 1st part (i am prompted with 'Access is denied' when I try to use the Add\Remove programs tool to remove programs that are listed to be removed.).

Are you using the administrator account ?

You need to run the steps from the admin account, do you not have access to it ? It may however be that something has changed the group policy settings for the control panel.

Please try and run through the steps, if you still have issues with the control panel just move on to the next step.
