Protection againt Keylogging

Are there programs out there to scan for keylogging programs installed onto ur computer?

I play poker online, and am a member of many forums. Recently, on one site i go to, members have been getting their accounts somehow cleaned out. More then likely by being keylogged and having there passwords stolen. They are not sure exactly how they are being keylogged either, as they are not directly connecting to any AIM conversation.

How are they being keylogged?

How can this be prevented/scanned for?

I dont want to just go google programs, because for all i know they could be actual keyloggers off some random site.
