Proxy server

    Hello I have a new laptop computer with widows 8, When I started to use it, I was flooded with viruses. I have cleaned up the computer but one program that is connected to the proxy server is driving me nuts. Tones of pop up adds are always coming up now. I deleted the program that how I found out it was part of the proxy server. So I had to reinstall it. Is there another proxy I can use or I can I disable donutleads with out losing the proxy. I could connect a land line but it is a lap top and that is what I want to use it for.
