Question about Doom3

I am unable to defeat the Guardian in hell. I have destroyed dozens of seekers and they still keep coming. Hit it with eight rounds from the BFG gun and I still can't defeat it. I have exhausted all my ammo except for shotgun to destroy seekers. My question is that is there an end to the seekers if you destroy enough of them? Thanks

Havent played for a little while, but, from memory....

there is no end to the seekers
You are probably fairly close to winning
If you wander around enough you will find more ammo (it keeps respawning)

Thanks Shanemail. I'll continue to attack the guardian and hope I can get out of this spot.

 

Use the Soul Cube!!! That is the best way to defeat the guardian.

 

if i remember right hes the last and i beleave the only way to beat him is when you kill the 3 seekers use the Soul Cube on him before he calls more seekers.

 

I must have overlooked finding the soul cube because I thought I had to kill the guardian to get it. It makes sense now that the soul cube can be the only weapon to destroy the guardian. I have to retrace my steps and see if I can find it. I must have died a thousand times getting to this point but I'm willing to die more times to find it. I thought I left no stone unturned looking for the BFG gun and soul cube. Found the gun but I'll keep looking for the soul cube. I don't believe it's in the guardian's lair so I'll look back for it. thanks for the hints.

you kill all the seekers then shoot at him when the guardian is spawning more seekers.use the rocket launcher if ya have one loaded.Should kill em after repeating this bout 3 to 5 times.

 

I think you guys are talking about the Cyberdemon, not the Guardian. The Soul Cube is right after the Guardian dies.
When you kill the Seekers, shoot the blue orb above the Guardian's head when he works to summon more.

 

yep, kill the 3 seekers - shoot the orb above the guardians head quickly - rocket launcher works fine - he will respawn another 3 seekers

I'll keep trying to kill the guardian. It seems that I destroy 3 seekers and while he starts to respawn more I hit him with everything I got, BFG, rockets, plasma gun, chain gun, but he just won't die. He chased me around til almost all the ammo was gone then got me. I'll concentrate my firepower on the blue flash on his back while he's respawning seekers. That may do it although you'd think 8 hits from the BFG would do it. Thanks to all for all the hints. I probably should've started at the recruit level instead of the veteran level. I know I can destroy him. Doom hell is starting to feel real.

 

Guardian destroyed! Now have soul cube. Onward to destroy the cyberdemon. Thanks to all for the hints.
