question about te free windows 10 upgrade

Alright hi everyone my question about the free upgrade and cant seem to find a answer for it is if i do the upgrade will it wipe my hard drive are just over write windows 7?

I'm still unsure as this appears to contradict what was posted here, post #40 on, for OEM systems anyway. Hope plodr's link is correct though.

 

I've had enough of this uncertainty so I'm currently in the process of upgrading a spare Win 7 OEM system via Windows Update. This will be definitive.

 

I'm not going to rush head long into this upgrade just because there will be sure to be bugs still and 7 works just fine at the moment.

 

I will, and I'll have fun doing it. Since I'm a computer geek, I'll enjoy every long hour when the upgrade happens on my computer.

Upgrading from windows 7 or 8 or 8.1 to 10, will keep your files and programs and just upgrade the OS itself.
