Is putting my computer in "sleep mode" good, bad or indifferent? I have a new 3.2 Hz 200Gig HD Sony computer. Is there any "heat" going to the HD or Motherboard when in sleep mode? I really appreciate all the help from the Major Geeks. What do you do with your computer over night?

sleep mode is more of a power save mode than anything else ... I leave one of my computers on 24/7, I just turn the monitor off when I goto bed or go out for awhile .. assuming you have descent airflow you should be OK

    Sleep Mode

if your worried about your new computer just let it use sleep mode and turn on the option for your hdd to shut off after like 20 min. it's been proven the hdd will last alot longer if you enable that
