I have a relatively new computer and have no problems. I have win xp sp2.
    I use AOL.

I've been reading your site for a month or so now. It seems I read that when downloading preventative things such as spywareblaster, etc, you recommend downloading to a temp folder. I looked in all the places that are now available as places I can download to, there isn't a temp folder.

Where should I download this kind of stuff to? I am planning to download spywareblaster and spyware doctor. Do I need the adaware if I don't have any problems?

Also, does anyone know if I can use foxfire if I connect via aol?

Thanks, and I just cannot say how much I admire all of the work you have put into helping us.

Firefox should work with any ISP. As far as spyware prevention. See the thread below for information. Personally, I save all my programs and tools in a safe folder, for example: C:\Program Files\SpyWare Tools

Thanks, BJG, "How to protect yourself from malware" is exactly where I am going to get my downloads from.

I don't know how to create the thing you said to put it into. Can you tell me how to create that?

I'm not real smart about this stuff, as you can tell.

    Sure, not a problem.

    To create a new folder:
Click START > My Computer > Local Disc C: > Program Files
Now, RightClick on an Empty Area and select New > Folder & name it Spyware Tools and ENTER

When saving programs, tools etc; save them to this directory and they will be safely stored. :)

It shows Presario C, but when I click on it, it says, "This folder contains files that keep your system working properly, you should not modify it's contents."

Click START > My Computer > Presario C: > Program Files
Now, Right Click on an Empty Area and select New > Folder & name it Spyware Tools and ENTER

If you get anything like before click ok and procede.
