Hi I own a Dell lap top have had it for just over a year, and now having some problems with mal ware etc. Any way I have heard it is better to format the c: drive and do a reinstall because windows becomes unstable from all the installs and un-installs. Any way I am not sure where to go from here or where to start if you would be so kind to advise it will be much appreciated. I also have a desktop about 4 yrs old same situation (but worse) I can not get my new I-pod to be recognized by it and I have been running norton system works on both machines but it has not helped appearently. So if you can give me a direction to go or wether or not to just re-format and start fresh or if there is any truth to that

    Welcome to MajorGeeks.com!

What type of issues are you having? I see a couple of minor problems in your HijackThis log; but first follow the below.

Please follow our standard cleaning procedures which are necessary for us to provide you support. Also there are steps included for installing, running, and posting HijackThis logs as attachments.

    - Run ALL the steps in this Sticky thread READ & RUN ME FIRST Before Asking for Support
    • Make sure you check version numbers and get all updates.
After doing ALL of the above you still have a problem make sure you have booted to normal mode and run the steps in the below link to properly use HijackThis:

    Downloading, Installing, and Running HijackThis

When you return to make your next post, make sure you attach the following logs and that you have run these scans in the following order too (
these scans are covered in steps 6 & 7 of the READ & RUN ME sticky)

Re: Still have the Flu :(

You must complete step 6 of the READ ME and attach the two requested logs.

Why did you start a new thread? You already had one where Shadow_Puter_Dude gave you the instructions to run the READ ME.

I'm merging you back to that thread!
