If i dont have the required amount of power to run a certain video card, power base on the amount of powersupply, and if i use this card anyway, can my computer really die out?

Keep in mind, i'm talking about PCI cards here. :cool

Also, how can i check on how much powersupply is needed for a video card?
I have 2 video radeon cards, and i dont see it on the box anywhere.

just normal PCI, not PCI-E? i dont know if PCI cards draw enough power to have a minimum PSU requirement...none of them are powerful enough i dont think

but with more powerful modern cards, yes they can cause the PSU to die which in turn can take out other components as well

Yea not pci-e, but PCI. I didnt think so myself too, but one card which i planned to buy:
    http://www.3dfuzion.com/cards_5500_pci_256.asp#

Or the 6200 256MB PCI card, says you must have
    " A minimum 250W system power supply "

My Powersupply from what i was told by gateway is 90 :cry, so until i buy a powersupply i was just wondering. I might go ahead and buy a powersupply, just to be on the safe side.

    Peace :) cool

You have a 90 Watt PSU? I doubt that very much. What model is that Gateway?
