Radegon kaput?!?....garbled graphics.

Hi people,
This is my machine....(please dont laugh!)
Packard bell iextreme
p4 1.9
512 sd ram
40 HD
Generic cd writer/dvd (read only)
radeon 8500
audigy SC

Now, up until a year ago eveything was fine until i had problems with my
power supply. It kept cutting out during windows start up but would eventually load up and work .Then i bought a new power supply,and whadaya know ,one problem fixed,another one arises.so now my computer screen has all this pixelated image curruption all over the place mainly in vertical lines, but just basically a mess.
Since then ive been using my old mx400 (since i havnt had a web connection for a year now, i cant play Desert combat so i didnt need a fast card)
now ive got web again i wanna play DC!
Ive tried putting the radeon in and its even worse now.
This is before ive even installed the drivers and its all screwed up.
Does this mean that when my pcu went kaput it took my radeon with it
or is there away too fix this problem.
Hope ive said enough with out saying too much...

ps.i didnt know that a space bar was a delete button that moved in the opposite direction lol...

 

sorry forgot to mention im running xp home sp 2,
Also i have this problem with all drivers ive tried, even before drivers are installed
its like it..

Follow the instructions in the readme to the letter,after uninstalling any ati or nvidia drivers from add/remove programs,restart in safe mode and use the program to clean all ati and nvidia drivers,after the restart install the latest drivers for the card you have attached to your comp,if you then decide you wish to switch cards again,this process must be repeated

Btw i tried the mx400 on bf 1942/DC on lowest poss settings@800*640
I must of got about 40 fps out of it....so it was definatley playable
hard shoot from distance though.....(still got a few medals though)
not bad for being out 4 a year eh?

I tried the utility thing and it didnt work.
I had to run the prog with the mx400 in beacause
with the radeon its so garbled i cant make out a thing,
Thats even when its in uninstalled mode.So i cant even see
wnat its like with the ati drivers in.
Im starting to think taht the card is gone for good.
I got two years out of it for £270. i can get a new card
half that price now and alot faster probably,shame i need a new pc any way,
still havnt paid for this lemon yet....£1100 3 years ago.

Anywho looks like thats it unless something miracleous happens,
