Radeon 9600 TV-Out issue

Greetings All,
I'm taking an older PC that I have and making it a media center. I'm using S-Video and it seems to work OK on the TV display when showing anything that is already rendered (ex: movie files). But not anything that requires rendering. It has a little difficulty playing flash games. It has a huge problem with iTunes Visualizer (refreshing once every half second). If I drag the same window over to the regular display, it runs just fine.
I get the feeling this is some poor tweaking on my part, but I can't find any decent documentation on this issue.
Presently:
Resolution= 800x600 @ 60hz
Using the latest drivers from ATI
Everything else is set to default settings for the extended display (TV-Out)
