Radeon HD7850 Drivers not working

So I just updated my OS from Win 8 to Win 8.1 last night, and now my XFX Radeon HD7850 won't work properly. I had two displays running, which is now only functioning on one, and whenever I boot I get a message saying that there are no AMD drivers installed. If I try and go into the CCC by right clicking the desktop, I get a message saying the CCC cannot be started, and that there are currently no settings to be configured. Also in the device manager, I have a warning (yellow) on the video card, and it's saying that Windows has stopped the device as it has reported problems (code 43). I've tried uninstalling and reinstalling the software a half a dozen times, no change. Also, although it says the are no AMD drivers installed, if I try to use the auto-detect on AMDs website, it tells me I have the latest drivers installed. Everything was working fine until I updated to Win 8.1. Oh yeah, I also tries disabling the driver signature check in windows, no difference. Has anybody come across this?

 

Sorry... I should mention too that CCC is Catalyst Control Centre...

 

Update. I just installed an Nvidea GT620 card that I was using (working) before the 7850, and I'm getting the exact same issue in the device manager (code 43). So obviously it's a problem with Win 8.1. Anybody?...

Sounds like the need for the drivers for windows 8.1 for your gpu.

Its possibly windows just complaining it cant find the gpu drivers for 8.1 so it cant use the higher functions for extra display running at default settings.

Or is it the catalyst drivers are needed for 8.1?

If you had onboard video did you disable this in the bios?
