On my Inspiron 9100 I currently have 512MB of RAM (256x2). I'm going to upgrade to 1GBx2. I scanned my notebook at crucial.com (link below). I want to save some $$$ by buying off of e-bay. What do I need to know to ensure compatibility - besides whether or not it is DDR 400, 200 PINs, 2x1GB???

BTW - what does CL2/CL3 mean? What the difference? Does it matter?

Cause (for my Desktop) they recommended a kit that was CL2....but I;m looking at a kit that is CL3. Will it be compatible?

The specs for that Desktop (Dimension 4300) are SDRAM, 168-PIN, 2 banks, currently 1x256MB, looking to upgrade to 2x512MB
