    Welcome to Major Geeks!

There is absolutely no point in running the scans if you have the programs ignore the problems.....Run SuperAnti-spyware and MalwareBytes and have them fix everything that they find. We also do not want you to attach a HJT log ...it is part of the MGTools.exe and will be included when you attach the MGLogs.zip.

Please follow the instructions in the below link and attach the requested logs when you finish these instructions.

Ok, I've ran all the scans and did everything to the T on the readme section. The only thing I couldn't do was run combofix. I renamed it to cf.exe just like it said and copied and pasted the command into the runbox, but when I went to execute, it gave me an error message saying it could not find the file, when clearly i was looking at the file right on my desktop. So I double clicked combofix and my computer beeped a couple of times and a message came up asking me if really wanted to run the scan and how roughly 1/1000 computers didn't survive disinfection, so I was a little hesitant to run that, but I ran everything else and have logfiles and they are attatched.

I've noticed that it's very difficult for me to load some websites such as ebay, or facebook, or even my homepage, which is Roadrunner. Again, any and all help is greatly appreciated. I don't know how you guys do it, I'm a patient guy, but when your computer is all messed up due to spyware/malware, I hate it.

    Thanks again guys.

Please re-run MalwareBytes and have it fix everything it finds!!

Now run the C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat file by double clicking on it. Then attach the new C:\MGlogs.zip file that will be created by running this and also attach the log from MWB's.

Ok, well I rescanned with Malwarebytes, I went to remove everything checked and it says some have to be eliminated upon reboot, everytime I reboot, they all come back. I also did what you said with the MGtools as well, updated logs are attached.

Well...you are a mess...:D ...let's try to clean it up.

If you haven't already, please disable the Guest account in User accounts.

Please use add/remove programs to uninstall:
    J2SE Runtime Environment 5.0 Update 3

    RegClean 2.6
    Viewpoint Manager (Remove Only)"
    Viewpoint Media Player

Please disable all anti-virus and anti-spyware programs while we do the following (re-enable when you are finished):

Run C:\MGtools\analyse.exe by double clicking on it. This is really HijackThis (select Do a system scan only) and select the following lines but DO NOT CLICK FIX until you exit all browser sessions including the one you are reading in right now:
    After clicking Fix, exit HJT.

Now Copy the bold text below to notepad. Save it as fixME.reg to your desktop. Be sure the "Save as" type is set to "all files" Once you have saved it double click it and allow it to merge with the registry.
Now download The Avenger by Swandog469, and save it to your Desktop.

    * Extract avenger.exe from the Zip file and save it to your desktop

    * Your PC should reboot, if not, reboot it yourself.
    * A log file from Avenger will be produced at C:\avenger.txt and it will popup for you to view when you login after reboot.

Please download ATF Cleaner by Atribune. This program does not require an installation. The executable actually runs the program.

NOTE: This program is for Windows XP and Windows 2000 only. ATF Cleaner will remove all files from the items that are checked so if you have some cookies you'd like to save. Please move them to a different directory first.

Alright, I did everything like you said and have attatched the log files of avenger and MGtools. I'm running two different web browsers, ace explorer and Firefox. Firefox is really laggy and doesn't seem to want to work, but Ace Explorer is running very well right now. Can you recommend a good firewall to use? Thanks again for all your help, you guys rule!

Since I ran this, I'm still experiencing slow browser and my desktop icons and task bar are disappearing. It was still intermitantly doing this when I ran the last scans.

You still have a lot of nasties and you've managed to add a few .....there are also numerous accounts on this computer. Are you running the scans and fixes in the same user account (which I assume is the one showing the infections ...but you need to know that if the other accounts are also infected, they too will need to have the process - scans - run on them).

Please disable all anti-virus and anti-spyware programs while we do the following:

Run C:\MGtools\analyse.exe by double clicking on it. This is really HijackThis (select Do a system scan only) and select the following lines but DO NOT CLICK FIX until you exit all browser sessions including the one you are reading in right now:

Alright I've done everything requested. attatched are the new avenger log and MSlogs file. Could you guide me through how to make my current user account a restricted account. As for the other accounts nobody uses them, so I really don't see the point in them. Can I just delete them? Also I would really like to be able to use a new firewall, something a lot better than EZ firewall. Things still seem a little sluggish, I don't know if I reinfected myself or what the deal is. Firefox is still not running right. It's just really slow and some websites do not come up at all.

Make sure you have disabled ALL anti-virus and anti-spyware programs....then:

Please download DelDomains and unzip it to your desktop. Do not run it yet.

Find the files from deldomains.zip on your Desktop and RightClick on the deldomains.inf file and select Install.

(Please note if you have Spybot S&D installed you will need to "Immunize" again because deldomains will remove all of the sites Spybot adds.)

    Now:
Run C:\MGtools\analyse.exe by double clicking on it. This is really HijackThis (select Do a system scan only) and select the following lines but DO NOT CLICK FIX until you exit all browser sessions including the one you are reading in right now:
    After clicking Fix, exit HJT.

Now Copy the bold text below to notepad. Save it as fixME.reg to your desktop. Be sure the "Save as" type is set to "all files" Once you have saved it double click it and allow it to merge with the registry.
    * Run avenger.exe by double-clicking on it.

    * Copy everything in the Quote box below, and paste it into the Input script here: part of the window:

    * Now click the Execute button.
    * Click Yes to the prompt to confirm you want to execute.
    * Click Yes to the Reboot now? question that will appear when Avenger finishes running.
    * Your PC should reboot, if not, reboot it yourself.
    * A log file from Avenger will be produced at C:\avenger.txt and it will popup for you to view when you login after reboot.

Are you using the [FONT=Verdana,Tahoma,Trebuchet MS]Java Virtual Machine (JVM) ?

If not we need to uninstall it.

Also delete all files in the below folders except ones from the current date (Windows will not let you delete the files from the current day).
    C:\Documents and Settings\Mick\Local Settings\Temp

Now run the C:\MGtools\GetLogs.bat file by double clicking on it. Then attach the new C:\MGlogs.zip file that will be created by running this and also attach the log from Avenger.

Be sure to tell us how things are running.

We will deal with the other issues in a bit.

Ok, so I followed everything you said, when I went to do the avenger, i pasted in everything you had told me to, when I executed, it gave me error messages about the Registry keys to delete. I have both logs you want attatched on this. Things seem to be running better, but I want to make sure everything is gone. I believe I'm using Sun Java, so should I go ahead and uninstall the JVM? Thanks again.

Arrgg...syntax...do this until I can look at your other log:

    * Run avenger.exe by double-clicking on it.
    * Do not change any check box options!!
    * Copy everything in the Quote box below, and paste it into the Input script here: part of the window:

    * Now click the Execute button.

Ok..hoping that the avenger log is correct and it actually removed it for good....

Please uninstall Spyware Doctor and all of its folders.

Well, I ran everything and did everything that was requested. Everything seems to be running a lot better now, but I have the log files you wanted attached just to make sure that everything is cleaned out. Here's hoping stuff is looking better.

    Your logs look clean.

If you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:

    1. If we used ComboFix then UNINSTALL COMBOFIX (This uninstall will only work as written if you installed ComboFix on your Desktop like we requested.)
    2.
    * Click START then RUN
    * Now type "%userprofile%\Desktop\cf" /u in the runbox and click OK.
    * Note: The space between the cf and the /U, it must be there.
    3. If we had you download any registry patches like fixme.reg or fixWLK.reg (or any others), you can delete these files now.
    4. You can delete the C:\MGtools folder and the C:\MGtools.exe file. You can also delete the C:\MGlogs.zip
    5. If you are running Windows XP or Windows ME, do the below:
    * Refer to the cleaning steps in the READ ME for your Window version and see the steps to Disable System Restore which will flush your Restore Points.
    * Then reboot and Enable System Restore to create a new clean Restore Point.
    6. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:

Thank you so much for all of Your help!!! Everything is working as it should and I have taken the proper steps to insure I'm a lot more protected than what I was. I've since installed avast and Online Armor. I've made them my primary firewall and virus protection. I've taken out the guest user account and changed my user account to a limited account. Thanks again, I can't tell you how good it feels when things are running right.
