    Hi,
I'm trying to make my relatively old comp a HTPC (no gaming, only want to play 1080p mkv files) and I was wondering if this graphic card (ATI Radeon HD 2600XT 256mb GDDR4 PCI-E) is compatible with my motherboard (A8R-MX/SI) because it has a on-board ATI graphics card.

btw, I'm running Windows 7 with 1.5GB DDR ram

I'm buying this second-hand and is this video card worth $40 Canadian dollars now? any other graphic cards under $50 better than this that my rig can handle?

    Thanks in advance

    Dami

That card should work with the board.

It doesn't matter what your onboard video is nearly any pci-e video card will work.

You may want to look at a GeForce 8600GT as there around $50 USD and I think there better then the 2600XT

I have a 8600GT in a media center PC and It does a great job for it.

    Thanks for the reply pclover
o, ya, I forgot to mention my PSU is 300W.

I don't think 8600GT or 2600XT need more than 300W, correct me if I'm wrong

I run a 8600GT on 300 watt with no issues.
