Realtek Audio Manager-sound is all grayed

defaults are impossible to configure, audio has made some problems during games so has been uninstalled and reinstalled - with no change.
then tryed installing the machine.inf through device manager - Realtek HD Audio
and sound since then has disapeared.
for that matter,
tryed changing HKLM\SYSTEM\Corrent Control Set\Controls\Windows\CSDVersion (200) to 300 so it would fit as sayed on the SP3.
its all 200 now after rebooting.
it mgiht be relevant to the connection being stuck at startup for abou a minute without being able to lounch internet connection, to the point,
MB ASUS P5GC-MX/1333,
the audio is Realtek HD Audio 2.21 while the original bootable MB driver doesn't solve that issue either.

solved!
reinstalled SP3 then put through repair and..!!
probably registry hives went back to they're places though drivers were fine and were running before the problem acured.
would be glad though to be aware of the hives for the next accurance althought through gaming, system sound still operates while HD drive sometimes loses its grip.
any hints would be happily accepted,
