Reccommend a mothboard

Im researching some stuff for a friend who wants to build a pc.

We have decided that he should get an Athlon 64 3000+ or 3500.

Im not that up to date on my mainboards so could someone suggest a good board for the above CPU's.

Total budget for PC is $850. Already have monitor. harddrives, cd+dvd, graphics.

If you could also suggest a PSU that would be great.

 

whats the computer going to be for? Also, Athlon 64 Skt 754 or Skt 939?

gaming mostly. Will be going for the 939.

 

I can only offer my opinion based on my experience here, but obviously the
big names like abit and gigabyte would do well. But in my experience
MSI has the best performance bang per buck going in the price range
you are looking at.

 

For gaming, a DFI card DEFINETELY! DFI's are also EXCELLENT for overclocking!

Also a 500w powersupply should be sufficient.

DFI, I'd say makes the best boards for OC, support seems great too.
I like Asus too.

What kind of Graphics card ya got? It's important unless your buying new, it could throw a wrench in your buget.
