Red X Marks on Drives

    Hi, My buddy's Laptop (Dell Inspiron N5010) seems to have been mishandled ? by his chums.There appears a Red X Mark on all his hard disk partitions except the system partition C.
    I tried my best to rectify without success. The Icons also seem to appear as Mapped Network drive or Shared Drive Icons.
    Please suggest ...

    Hello,
    This may be due to a malware infection. Go over to the Malware Forum and post your logs according the sticky post.

    Thanks for the suggestion. I'll be moving over shortly to the Malware Forum.
    Please keep this post active as there may be a workaround available if its a Windows problem.
