I just erased, reformatted and partitioned my hard drive a few days ago. I decided to run all of the malware scans and procedures on my pc before I replaced all of my files on my external hard drive. I also wanted to check my external for any problems as well. So, if one of you incredibly intelligent specialists out there would take a peek at my results, I would really appreciate it. The first set is before I hooked up the external and the second is after.
    Thank you so much!

The only item that I question is whether your copy of ZoneAlarm includes and antivirus. If not, you need to install an antivirus ASAP.

If you are not having any other malware problems, it is time to do our final steps:
    1. We recommend you keep SUPERAntiSpyware and Malwarebytes Anti-Malware for scanning/removal of malware. Unless you purchase them, they provide no protection. They do not use any significant amount of resources ( except a little disk space ) until you run a scan.
    2. If we had you use ComboFix, uninstall ComboFix (This uninstall will only work as written if you installed ComboFix on your Desktop like we requested.)
      • Click START then RUN and enter the below into the run box and then click OK. Note the quotes are required
      • "%userprofile%\Desktop\combofix" /u
        • Notes: The space between the combofix" and the /u, it must be there.
        • This will uninstall ComboFix and also reset hidden files and folders settings back to Windows defaults.
      • Delete the C:\combofix folder from combofix (if it exists)
    3. Any other miscellaneous tools we may have had you install or download can be uninstalled and deleted.
    4. If running Vista, it is time to make sure you have reenabled UAC by double clicking on the C:\MGtools\enableUAC.reg file and allowing it to be added to the registry.
    5. Go to add/remove programs and uninstall HijackThis.
    6. You can delete the C:\MGtools folder and the C:\MGtools.exe file. You can also delete the C:\MGlogs.zip
    7. After doing the above, you should work thru the below link:

Thank you so much for taking the time to look into my files. I really appreciate it.
Yes, I do have more than just ZoneAlarm for protection. I have PC Tools AntiVirus, Spywareblaster and Registry Mechanic plus an external modem. I have kept the MBAM and SAS plus I have A Squared as well. I have it set up that my computer is scanned by at least one of them every hour and a full scan is done every night. All real time programs update every morning.
I have set the ZA to high on every setting that I possibly can. I have developed a set of rules pertaining to our pc with my husband. No peer to peer, torrents or shareware sites. We have a laptop that is six years old and I have Sophos installed on that (both firewall and AV), if he wants to download anything, he can do it there, scan it and then put it on the USB drive to transfer.
We initially had someone hack into our computer (thank you DomLuc!), steal our Microsoft Digital ID and turn our pc into a zombie for about a month before we realized it. Plus one of our sticks of RAM died on us very slowly, so it was incredibly hard for me to figure out all of the issues. The first was the malware and hijack issues.
I'm just glad that all of our important files weren't corrupted.
Again, I am really thankful for your time and effort. I had never worked in a computer system before and had no idea what I was doing half the time. Some really great members held my hand and guided me through it. If there is ever anything that I can do for MG, please pm me. This site has been a Godsend to me and I never take anyone's advice for granted. Helping in some little way is the least that I could do.
    You are incredible people.

PC Tools AntiVirus was not installed which is the reason for my question.

Just remember that Spywareblaster does not provide realtime protection and Registry Mechanic has nothing to do with malware protection.

We don't actually recommend this due to the fact that it has too many false positive issues but if you are willing to live with those false positives, so be it.

Be careful with USB drives since they are notorious for spreading autoruns type infections. Did you disable autoruns as suggested in the How to protect yourself link.

You need to pick better colors if you wish to use them. ;) Using the quote boxes would be a better idea.

SpywareBlaster is not a scanner! You just set it and forget it except when you want to update it.

I'm sorry, I looked back through my posts and I don't think that I said that I was using that program as a scanner. I apologize for the miscommunication if I did. As for the colors, again, I didn't know that it would be an issue.

    You said the below :
I assumed that by SWB you meant SpywareBlaster.

Been a long day, sorry, I meant to say that I scan every morning and evening with PCTools. I also do a Zonealarm scan and I think I'll start to use MBAB unless that's a little overkill on a daily basis.
Sorry for the confusion and taking up your time.
