Reformatting Hardrive, how do I copy SP2 pack onto a cd

Hi

I want to reformat the hard drive and I am going thru all my files and burning them onto cds. I want to find the all the Security updates that my computer updates automatically from Microsoft. So I dont have to download them all over again. Something like 272MB!

Can I find them on my computer and burn them to disk???

I'm not sure if you can. The easiest way to get SP2 onto a disk is to goto the microsoft site and download it, or you can request a disc to be sent out to you.

 

I dont think you can extract updates that are already installed on your PC & save to CD or anything.
You can download them & save to whatever CD/DVD/HDD/zip drive etc.

Just enter the update you want in the search box then download it, you will have Option to Run or Save, select save & you choose where to save, CD or what ever (On your PC Look in Add & remove programs for all the updates you have, make sure box is checked to show all updates, at the link I posted in the search box enter the Microsoft # example KB888302)

If your going to the trouble to locate each update & save em You might look into making a slipstream CD, a good program for this is Nlite "Free":

Something else to consider for the future is Imaging software like Acronis True Image or Norton Ghost:
