Removal Guide - Questions

Hi guys. Had an infection of 'randomware' and thanks to you have managed to eradicate it (hopefully) as I'm now in my first day of waiting to see if it returns, then to switch on everything I turned off following your very helpful 'READ & RUN ME FIRST Malware Removal Guide'.

Whilst waiting, thought I'd try to obtain answers to a couple of points.

1: The Guide asks that we not take any action on the result of scans but leave it until we have received advice. It appears Malwarebytes ridded me of my initial problem but I continued with all scans as the guide suggests. Whilst later scanning with Hitman, 'Verison.dll' labelled as a trojan (it definately said VERISON and not VERSION) was discovered but as again suggested in the guide I did not activate remedial action, so I assume it's still there?
I'm aware dll's are important files and obviously do not want to get rid of it if needed, so, if all goes well after a few days, should I then re-run Hitman and get rid of it, or leave well alone?

2: Hitman also informed me a file 'C:\PROG~3\ewj3lfh.dss' is missing and may initiate an error message on start-up. I have no idea what this file may have been and so far have not had such an error message - any advice please.

3: Reading various links on the site yesterday, I came across one about firewalls and ended with the feeling the Windows 7 Firewall I have is totally inadequate and should be replaced. Is this still the generally held opinion?

Thanks for wanting to help other less well informed people out here, certainly saved me from resorting to a full Windows 7 re-install which initially seemed my only option. Thank you all again...
