Removal of Yahoo toolbar

Yahoo toolbar appeared in Firefox, and in right click menu, although I don't recall installing.
How do i remove if it isn't in "add/remove programs"?

 

Some other programs install Yahoo's stupid toolbar if you're not 100 percent awake and alert when you download. And most of us are sleepy, tired etc. frequently. CCleaner is one of those companies that exercise this courtesy. Try clicking around in the Yahoo! Toolbar's menu. Perhaps it will show an uninstall option somewhere. I know Google's Toolbar do.

 

You can get Firefox browser with Google's Toolbar if you prefer. The download is a part of Google Pack so you need to uncheck the boxes for the programs that you do not want.

Remember to uninstall "Google Updater" from Add/remove programs afterwards. It is spyware as well as adware and it is unable to update anything. It will also remove your access to the box with language settings on Google Packs homepage. So should you ever want a program in an other language from Google Pack, - you can't.

This is particularly important for users in smaller language areas because some programs on Google Pack are only available in English. For comparison Norway is a good example. The number of programs in Google Pack is much smaller in Norwegian. Link here. Google might ruin that link and redirect but one can fix that in the box with language options.

 

These removal instructions works sometimes: close all Firefox windows except one. In this window you click the Yahoo! Toolbar's toolbar settings menu – looks like a pencil. Then choose Uninstall. Reboot. Should be gone now.
