Removing Search Assistant and About:Blank

I would like some advice on removing search assistant url's and about:blank for a friend's computer. I did most of the instructions in the sticky except run CCleaner, as I don't want to delete items my friend may need. I ran an Hijack this log if you want to examine it. Thanks

We ask that you try to run through the whole tutorial. There are some special tools for about:blank.

It is very important that you at least try to do everything in the TUTORIAL. If you still have a problem then do the following:

Please try to turn OFF any applications that are not needed It makes it much easier to look at the HJT log.
Make sure you have HijackThis 1.99 and follow the guidelines on where to install it and how to post a log as an attachment. This is all covered in the sticky thread NO HIJACK THIS LOG FILES BEFORE READING THIS: HJT Tutorial & LOG File Posting

Now post a HijackThis log as an attachment to your message (Do not post the log inline). All running programs should be closed, INCLUDING YOUR WEB BROWSER, e-mail. Close before running Hijack This!

To repeat: Do NOT run Hijack This from the Desktop, a temp folder, or a sub-folder of C:\Documents and Settings, or choose to run it directly from the downloaded ZIP file. Place it in its own folder for example C:\Program Files\HJT

If this is the spyware page where it takes you to a bogus search page then:
Don't bother man, just reinstall the windows, it is not worth your time since it will take you a while. I had it on my brothers computer HJT fixed it, then my TCP/IP got corrupted, when I fixed that I went on the internet again and it came back.
It is a terrible problem...
There is a programm that costs about $20 that will fix this, however it is my opinion that the morons that created this BS, created the programm that fixes it as well.

 

Are you familiar with this on your computer.
