Renaming files enmasse

    My camera saves as JPG format and this garbles it as suprisingly some software applications insist on .jpg extension instead of .JPG

    Related thread to do this in Windows-


    Can you tell me a command line sequences to change ?

    /home/user/pictures/*.JPG to .jpg

    Hmmm, it did not work....

    user@system:~$ rename -n 's/\d{5}(\d{3})\.JPG$/BentleyPics_$1\.jpg/' *.JPG
