Respone Time?

Hi i got an samsung syncmaster 740N 17" lcd and the respones time is 8ms , however when i play games on it i tend to see alooot of ghosting especially on gta san andreas.

and on my friends 25ms lcd the ghosting isnt much as mine.
i have the latest driver for my video card and i installed my lcd driver

i own a geforce fx5200 , while he owns a geforce 6600 GT
could that be the reason why? should i buy a new video card?

i could change the refresh rate to 72hz but i dont think its recommended with lcds (really doesnt matter)

anyways please tell whats wrong

It isn't always just down to the video card. How much RAM do you have in comparison to your friend?

 

He has 512 ddr ram n i got 768 ddr ram
(one stick is 512 pc 3200 n other 256 , 2300)

 

These mismatches might be your problem the ones in the quotes.

 

i doubt that cuz im running the game in low graphics at 800 x 600 32 bit

 

But ALL of the RAM will run at the speed of the slowest stick.

 

so its better if i just remove the 2300 ram

 

Have you made sure trails is disabled,its enabled by default,check the GTA graphical options

 

That depends on exactly what you are running - for your normal every day apps you won't notice a great deal of difference but video editing etc then yes you want the RAM to run as quickly as it can - so always try and match the speed of your RAM sticks.
