I am interested if there is away of setting up or the easy way to go about it as far as upgrade. I would like to go from an telephone that is rj11 in to a fast ethernet switch witch ports are rj45. From there i plan on traveling thru a network to some one else that uses a cisco call manager. How can it be done.

Plugs is Not an issue, the content of the signal is.

A telephone signal into a switch would create a problem with both the Tel. Line and the Switch.

hmmm..... look at the cisco ATA 180 series of analog adapters. I think multitech, or packet 8 also make adaptors. Hope this helps
    probably won't be cheap.
