run command missing, wireless network icon blinks constantly

    Hi, i want to go through the maleware removal procedures on this pc, but the run key is missing from the start menu, I think this pc may have some maleware on it as the wireless connection icon in the taskbar blinks on and off all the time. Does anyone know how to restore the run feature? Windows xp sp2 on this system Thanks, Jon

    Welcome to Majorgeeks!

    Neither of these problems you mention are necessarily malware!

    1. Right-click on the Start menu and choose Properties;
    2. Select the Start Menu tab and click on the Customize... button;
    3. The click the Advanced tab
    4. In the Start menu item box: scroll down to the check box for Run command and make sure it is checked.
    5. then OK your way out of these forms.
