   cant boot up in normal xp so im in safe mode for the time being but i cant listen to music at all. It says bad directsound drivers.. how can i fix this?.

   Depending on software used to playback music you may get a message like that if you use WinAmp?
   
   If WinAmp then try this:
   
   

   Plus also check and update your sound card drivers.
